From the south using the car ferry: Leave the M6 at junction 36 and at the end of the slip-road take the first exit off the roundabout onto the A590 (A591). Stay on the dual-carriageway until you come to a big roundabout with the Gateway Inn on the corner.  At the roundabout take the first exit B5284, signed ‘for Hawkshead via Ferry’. At the end of the road, bear left and then first right, then turn right and then left to join the ferry queue.  Coming off the ferry, drive for about a mile into the village of Far Sawrey.

From the south direct: Leave the M6 at junction 36 and at the end of the slip-road take the first exit off the roundabout onto the A590 (A591). Take the first exit off the dual-carriageway and turn left at the roundabout onto the A590 signed for Barrow-in-Furness. Continue on the A590 to Newby Bridge - go straight ahead at the roundabout (otherwise you’ll head up the wrong side of the lake), then immediately take the first right, over the bridge by the Swan Hotel. Follow the road through Lakeside for approximately 10 minutes, turn right at Graythwaite towards Cunsey/ferry. At the hamlet of Cunsey, take the left hand turning at a junction with a post box on the corner. After about ½ mile  turn right at the junction into Far Sawrey. The hall is on the right opposite the Cuckoo Brow Inn.

 From the north via the ferry: Leave the M6 at junction 40 and follow theA66. After about 10 mins take the A591 to Ambleside, (clearly signed). Go through Ambleside, continuing on the A591, now following signs for Windermere. At the turn off for Windermere, turn right and drive for about two miles into Bowness on Windermere. Drive through the town and then past the  lake shore with shops and boats on your right. Drive for about half a mile to a right hand turning for the ferry. Coming off the ferry, drive uphill for about a mile into the village of Far Sawrey. The hall is on the left opposite the Cuckoo Brow Inn.

From the north direct: Leave the M6 at junction 40 and follow the A66 and A591 to Ambleside. In Ambleside, follow the one way system and turn right following the signs for Hawkshead. In Hawkshead drive straight past the sign which points into the village of Hawkshead and parking, and take the left hand road at the junction. Drive through Near Sawrey (passing the NT’s Beatrix Potter’s house on the right) and continue into Far Sawrey. The hall is on the right opposite the Cuckoo Brow Inn.

By rail: The nearest mainline train station is Oxenholme, with a connecting train to Windermere. From there, take a taxi to the ferry, or a bus to Bowness Bay and then walk along the main road following signs to the ferry. Coming off the ferry walk uphill for about a mile into the village of Far Sawrey. The hall is on the left opposite the Cuckoo Brow Inn.
